PLEASE NOTE: Beginning January 2018 the newsletter will be published every other month
New Ministry at FBC: All are welcome to be part of a new ministry starting at FBC: The Prayer and Blessing Ministry, sending messages of Hope.  We plan to meet monthly to pray for those who are sick and those who are shut in from our congregation and to send notes of encouragement to them. The Prayer and Blessing Ministry will meet on Monday, January 29 and Monday, February 26 at 10:00 AM at the church. Please contact Merri-Jo Godfrey, Donna Adams, or the church office for more info. No sign up is necessary. We hope to see you there.
Friday Morning Ladies Small Group: All Ladies are welcome for our new study: Encouraging Others: Strengthening the Art of Caring. The first meeting will be Friday, January 19 at 10 AM.Please sign up on the bulletin board. Cost for the materials is $8. For more information, please contact Merri-Jo Godfry
Do you want to learn more about Billy Graham? Our church library has 20 books about or by Billy Graham. Some of the titles are: The Making of a Crusader Storm Warning The Secret of Happiness Living in God’s Love The Journey The Holy Spirit Evangelist to the World Just As I Am and Answers to Life’s Problems. Taking a book out of the library is easy. Just sign your name, title of the book, and the date on the sign-out sheet hanging by the door. Enjoy!

New Wednesday Evening Bible Studies  Pastor Greg has begun a study of angels. Cassondra Clute is now leading a Young Adults Bible study currently studying the epistles of John. Both classes begin at 7:00 PM on Wednesday evenings.
Please join us to create fun quilts and mitts for folks with dementia and Alzheimer’s. Also, they are great for folks who like to keep their fingers busy.Finished items will be presented to our members who want them and area senior care facilities. Each quilt and mitt will be handmade and prayed over by the crafters.. Any level of skill is great: crafting, sewing, knitting, crocheting, beading, etc. Please join us for our scheduled tinker times. We meet in the Silas room the first and third Wednesdays of  each month at 10:00 AM. There is no cost to you.If you are not able to join us on Wednesdays and would like to help with this ministry, there are many things that you can do on your time at your leisure.. FBC Library
The church library is currently undergoing a reorganization.Please feel free to stop in and see what is happening. Books can be checked out of the library by writing your name,title of the book, and the date on the sign out sheet next to the door. Enjoy!
Operation Christmas Child Shoe Boxes
Shoe boxes are now available for you and will be due back to the church by Sunday, November 11.

Shoe Box Packing Day
The Friday morning Ladies Small Group would like to
invite everyone (ladies, men, teens, and children) to a morning of packing shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child.You may bring items to be included in the boxes,
but that is not necessary as other materials will be available.Friday, November 9 @ 10 AM

Community Thanksgiving Service
The annual Elkton Community
Thanksgiving Service will be held
Sunday, November 18th @ 4:00 PM at
Elkton United Methodist Church.
This year’s service will be a choir festival.
Ladies Christmas Tea
You’re invited to an afternoon of Christmas joy and
fellowship. $10.00 per person in the fellowship hall on Saturday, Dec. 15 at 1:00 PM. Men and young men (middle school age and older) are needed to help serve at the Ladies Tea on No experience necessary. Pastor Arlen & others with experience will show you what to do.Please sign up on the bulletin board or call the church office. Contact Pastor Arlen or Kelly with any questions. Table hostesses also needed.
Wednesday Quilting Group
The quilting group is now meeting from 10-1:30pm every Wednesday at the home of Mary Lou Gilbert. They are working on about 100 quilts, blankets and walker bags for Laurelwood Nursing Home residents at Christmas. More workers are welcome.
